General Description: Manby Hot Springs is a beautiful rustic rock walled pools along the Rio Grande in New Mexico. This hot springs is also known as Stagecoach Hot Springs. It is right down the river from Black Rock Hot Springs. This is a popular destination in the summer and gets alot of foot traffic. The hot springs are free and clothing optional.
Location: From Taos, New Mexico it is 13 miles or about 25 minutes.
Directions: From Taos, New Mexico take Highway 522 N at mile 5.3 turn west onto County Road B007. After ~2.5 miles and turn left onto another dirt road just before B007 makes a hard right. Go slow and preferably in a high-clearance vehicle. Go past the "Dobson House" sign and take the next left fork. Stay to your right until you reach the large parking lot(s) for the Manby Hot Springs. Once you park, on the left side of the parking area, take a dirt/ rock path to the river, a 15-20 minute walk.
Accessibility: Manby Hot Springs is accessible by car to the parking area. The trail is about a mile that has moderate traffic. The hot springs trail is rated as moderate and a beautiful hike for bird watching.

Hot Springs: Manby Hot Springs is nestled at the bottom of the Río Grande Gorge. There are 4 pools along the river. There are two main pools. The hot spring rock walled pools are roughly 2 feet deep and are sand and gravel bottomed. They are each of slightly varying degrees in temperature depending on the season between 100 -98 degrees. The other two are smaller and colder adjacent to the river. Depending on the spring river runoff some pools may be submerged.
Hot Spring Tips: Manby Hot Springs is clothing optional. This hot springs is free. Day use only. No camping is allowed. There are some pit toilets located around the John Dunn Bridge. This hot springs is pet friendly. Dogs need to be on a leash. No dogs in hot springs. This hot spring goes under water in spring runoff. No glass.
