General Description: Keough Hot Ditch is a group of man made rocked walled pools formed inside a creek of natural hot spring water. Located in the Owens Valley of California right off highway 395 this is a primitive warm spring runoff. The source is Keough Hot Springs Resort which is up the road and uphill and is 600 gallons per minute.
Location: Located in Bishop, California about 50 miles north from Lone Pine, California.
Directions: From Lone Pine, California take US-395 N 49.7 mi Turn left onto Keough Hot Springs Rd

Accessibility: Keough Hot Ditch is very accessible. It is located right off a road. It gets alot of foot traffic because of it accessibility. You will need to walk around a ditch when you get into the springs.

Hot Springs: The Keogh Hot Ditch pools are fairly large and decrease in temperature as you go downhill. The water is generally clear and inviting. Primitive, except for damming of some of the pools. The source is Keough Hot Springs Resort which is up the road and uphill which is a pay resort. It comes through a ground pipe at about 95 degrees. The pools cool as they cascade downhill.
Hot Springs Tips: Keough Hot Ditch has a reported case of Naegleria Fowleri or also known as the brain eating amoeba. DO NOT PUT YOUR HEAD UNDER THE WATER. It only is known to go up your nose. It is fatal. It is safe if you don’t submerge your head. Keough is a free hot springs. Clothing is optional. There are no bathrooms. No overnight camping. This hot springs gets alot of foot traffic in good weather. Locals use it as a warm swimming hole. Beware of glass. Pack out all trash. This hot springs is pet friendly. Dogs need to be on a leash. No dogs in hot springs.
