General Description: Barton Springs Pool is located within Zilker Park's 358 acres in Austin, Texas. Barton boasts a geothermal mineral water pool itself measures three acres in size. Day use only. There are no overnight accommodations at the park.

Accessibility: Barton Springs Pool is accessible. You can drive up to the hot springs. It is an easy walk around the park.
Hot Springs: Barton Springs Pool has a source that is fed from underground geothermal spring. Edwards Aquifer feeds Barton Pool. Barton Springs Pool is made up of four springs: Upper Spring (west of the pool) Main Spring (near the diving board) Eliza Spring (around the concession stand area) Old Mill Spring (at the Sunken Garden) The temperature of the pool is 68 - 70 degrees. The pool is 3 acres long. The depths of the pool range from 0 to 18 feet. The water is 100 % natural. They do not treat the water. Clothing is not optional. Bathing suits are required.
Hot Spring Tips: Barton Springs Pool has a fee to soak and swim. Springs serves as home to the endangered Barton Springs Salamander, and is listed as a federally protected habitat. This hot springs hosts an educational exhibit where visitors can learn about the history and biology of Barton. There are no food or coolers allowed. There is a concession stand for food. They have bathrooms and changing rooms onsite. This hot springs is not pet friendly.
